This week the writing homework with need extra time and attention due to the fact that it is a 3-5 paragraph assignment. The students were encouraged to be fantastical in writing this original adventure narrative.

February 8th is Lincoln’s birthday and February 15th is Presidents Day. Also, the trimester ends on February 19th. If your child wants to be caught up on book reports (16 total by the end of this trimester) those 3 day weekends would be a good chance to read. (I know I sound like a broken record!)

Most students say they are making good progress on the state report/ABC book that it is due Friday. The next project will be the Mobile Book Report and will involve a non fiction book. The directions are posted above.
This week the students are choosing 3 goals to work on in the areas of academic, BEST, and health. Each day this week they will be writing about how they are progressing towards meeting these goals by Friday. This is a learning assignment, done at school, to help children practice the art of goal setting and working towards results.
